Schools across the nation now realize the importance of service in youth development and require community service as a requirement for graduation.&nbsp; In fact, in North Carolina, freshman entering school in Fall 2007 will be required to complete 30 hours of service their senior year in order to earn a diploma.<\/P>\n<P>The <STRONG><EM>Volunteer Wayne! Youth Program <\/EM><\/STRONG>is designed to help young people get involved and stay involved with volunteerism by connecting them to opportunities to serve and by providing a way to highlight their accomplishments while volunteering.<\/P>\n<P>The program is also a resource to educators in public, private, faith based and home schools in Wayne County.
